Guidelines


Requirement

IPPT is a mandatory annual (within a 12-month period, i.e. your IPPT window) requirement for all eligible NSmen with PES A, B/ B1/ B2/ C1 status.

You do not need to fulfil your IPPT requirements once you are:

  • Phased into MINDEF Reserve (MR)
  • 45 years old and above (for Officers)
  • 40 years old and above (for WOSEs)
  • Permanently downgraded to PES B3 and below (excluding PES C1)

As IPPT requirements are gazetted under the Enlistment Act, you will not receive notifications via SAF100 to participate in any IPPT activities. It is your responsibility as an NSman to track and fulfil your IPPT requirements within your annual IPPT window. For your convenience, an SMS notification will be sent upon the commencement of your IPPT window.

 

IPPT window – 12 month period

Your first IPPT window starts on your first birthday after your Operationally Ready Date (ORD), and ends a day before your next birthday. 

Example:

If your ORD in on 28 Mar 2020 and your birthday is on 23 May 2020, your first IPPT window starts on 23 May 2020 and ends on 22 May 2021. If your birthday falls before your ORD (e.g. 24 February before your ORD on 28 Mar 2020), your first IPPT window will only start on your next birthday the following year, i.e. 24 February 2021, and ends on 23 February 2022.

Thereafter, your next IPPT window will start again on your next birthday. Your IPPT window continues until you are no longer required to take your IPPT.
