RSAF A330 MRTT and C-130 Deployed to Deliver Singapore’s Third Tranche of Aid for Gaza

As part of Singapore's third tranche of humanitarian assistance to Gaza, the Republic of Singapore Air Force (RSAF) has deployed an A330 Multi-Role Tanker Transport and a C-130 transport aircraft on 15 March 2024 to deliver humanitarian aid to Gaza via Amman, Jordan. At the invitation of the Jordanian government, the C-130 will stay on and conduct humanitarian airdrop operations staged out of Jordan with support from the Jordanian Armed Forces.

The SAF's Changi Regional Humanitarian Assistance and Disaster Relief Coordination Centre (RHCC) led efforts to coordinate and consolidate contributions of humanitarian aid supplies from agencies including the Singapore Armed Forces (SAF), Ministry of Health (MOH) and non-governmental organisation, Relief Singapore.

The 69 personnel deployed in support of these operations departed earlier today on the MRTT and C-130 from Changi Air Base (East) and Paya Lebar Air Base respectively. The Chief of Defence Force, Vice Admiral Aaron Beng, officiated the sending off ceremonies, and representatives from Relief Singapore were also present.

Minister for Foreign Affairs Dr Vivian Balakrishnan will be travelling to Amman, Jordan, to hand over the aid to the Royal Jordanian Government to channel to those in need in Gaza. He will be joined by Senior Minister of State for Defence Zaqy Mohamad.
