Reply to Lianhe Zaobao's Media Query on SDE's "Ah Ma" Filmlet and MINDEF/SAF's Social Media Strategy

The Ministry of Defence (MINDEF) is heartened by the positive response to the filmlet "Ah Ma", which has achieved a reach of over 1.9 million. "Ah Ma" was produced as part of our ongoing efforts to highlight the National Service journey, the safe and realistic training in the SAF, in a light-hearted manner that would better resonate and appeal to the public.

The Army recently commemorated its 55th anniversary with a virtual exhibition themed "#OurArmyFamily". The exhibition honours the contributions of soldiers past and present, to thank them for their commitment, dedication and service. As part of the exhibition, the "Ask Me Anything" and "Peek into the Army" productions aimed to provide informative and interesting insights into different aspects of the Army through the eyes of our soldiers. The Army55 virtual programmes have garnered a combined viewership of 1.5 million.

MINDEF and the Singapore Armed Forces (SAF) regularly work with our partners to develop accessible and engaging content about the SAF. We will continue to find new ways to engage with Singaporeans and the wider audience. We appreciate Singaporeans' continued support towards National Service and the SAF, and look forward to bringing more exciting content to the public.
