Fact Sheet: Partners' Support for the 2014 Total Defence Campaign (TD 2014)

Every year, the TD campaign sees partners from the 3P (private, public and people) sectors come together to expand and deepen outreach to Singaporeans. This year, there are 13 new partners who have come on board to help share the TD message through their respective networks and platforms, and also to support the various outreach efforts.

Description
Singapore Armed Forces (SAF) The SAF’s 30th Battalion, Singapore Combat Engineers, Unmanned Aerial Vehicle Command and Maritime Security Task Force are supporting the interactive exhibition at the National Museum of Singapore (NMS) through their vehicle and equipment displays. Various SAF units are also visiting the interactive exhibition as part of their TD commemoration programme, or partnering their respective schools under the SAF-Schools Partnership Programme to give more students the chance to do so.
Association of Small and Medium Enterprises (ASME) ASME is a not-for-profit organisation that aims to equip member SMEs with business knowledge and information on market opportunities to help them develop their businesses. The association is supporting TD 2014 with inspiring stories of local entrepreneurs, which will be featured in the interactive exhibition.
Camera Rental Centre (CRC) CRC adopted the TD 2014 theme "Because You Played A Part" for their signature "A Photo A Week" photography competition, and encouraged participants to submit photos based on their interpretations of the theme. The best photos from this competition will be displayed at the interactive exhibition at the NMS.
Le Gluttony Le Gluttony is a non-profit organisation which aims to celebrate local culture, and promote artistic and entrepreneurial activities by Singaporeans. The organisation is supporting TD 2014 by curating a TD Edition of their signature Food and Film Festival at NMS on  21 and 22 Feb 2014, which will feature local Food and Beverage entrepreneurs and arts talents.
Ministry of Education - Character and Citizenship Education (CCE) Branch The CCE Branch has produced TD resource packages for both students and teachers to help raise awareness of the TD message.
Ministry of Culture, Community and Youth (MCCY) - Community Relations and Engagement Division (CRED) & Resilience Division MCCY will be showcasing various initiatives which help foster harmonious community relations and social cohesion in our multicultural society at the interactive exhibition. Specifically, the CRED will be showcasing the various initiatives by Inter-Racial and Religious Confidence Circle, and the Resilience Division will be showcasing the various Singapore50 celebration initiatives.
National Cadet Corps (NCC) NCC cadets are supporting the TD 2014 as volunteer facilitators and ambassadors at the interactive exhibition.
National Heritage Board (NHB) NHB is showcasing their newly-launched mobile application - a self-guided trail on World War II - and publicising their military-themed roving exhibition at the NMS. 
National Library Board (NLB) Content from the interactive exhibition will be making its rounds at some public libraries in Singapore after the duration of the showcase at the NMS, to extend the reach of this year’s TD campaign. In addition, NLB also supported the N.E.mation!8 public rally as a venue sponsor.
National Museum of Singapore
(NMS)
The NMS is sponsoring its venue for the nine-day interactive exhibition, and also allowing the integration of the interactive exhibition content with selected Museum exhibits.
National Parks Board (NParks) and Community in Bloom (CIB) NParks and CIB are supporting TD 2014 by providing inspiring stories of local entrepreneurs to be featured in the interactive exhibition.  
National Trades Union Congress (NTUC) NTUC is showcasing NTUC is showcasing its role as a tripartite partner when Singapore was hit by an economic downturn in 2008/2009, and its future commitments in helping the workers of Singapore, as part of the interactive exhibition.  
National Environment Agency (NEA) NEA provided a story which will be featured at the 30 stories exhibit of the interactive exhibition.
People’s Association (PA) The PA's Panel of Activists for Community Engagement (PACE) is supporting the TD 2014 by collaborating with Nexus to bring TD-themed theatre performances to the heartlands. The PA Emergency Preparedness (EP) Division will also be setting up a "Kampong Games" booth at the interactive exhibition as part of their outreach efforts to bring back the Kampong spirit where everyone can work and play together and share the essence of the Community Engagement Programme (CEP) which is to widen our circle of friends and strengthen our trust by forging strong bonds. In addition, the Integration Division will be working with Community Centres to bring residents, including new immigrants and various ethnic groups, to the interactive exhibition.
POSB Bank This is the fourth year that POSB is supporting the TD campaign . This year, as part of TD 2014, "Thank You" cards will be made available at 35 POSB branches across Singapore. In addition, POSB will be showcasing an application - which highlights the importance of Economic Defence - that they developed together with ITE College Central during the exhibition at the NMS, in addition to sharing about the its role in contributing to Economic Defence.
Project Happy Feet (PHF) PHF will be organising a TD edition of their signature Slipper Race on 22 Feb 2014 in the heart of town. All proceeds will go to the support of underprivileged children in Singapore and beyond. PHF will also be setting up a booth at the interactive exhibition which brings people through a journey of their fund-raising activities from past to present.
Public Utilities Board (PUB) PUB is showcasing stories of how Singaporeans have played their part in water conservation, and in keeping our water catchments and waterways clean at the interactive exhibition. PUB also is also sponsoring NEWater for the various TD 2014 events.
RSAF RSAF provided a booth for TD2014 at the Singapore Airshow 2014. Publicity support was also given in the form of incorporating TD2014’s logo into the RSAF45@SA's outdoor ads.
SAFRA Radio SAFRA Radio's Power 98FM and Jia 88.3FM is supporting publicity efforts for TD 2014, such as by hosting radio talk shows to raise awareness of TD 2014 messages and the interactive exhibition. They will also provide emcees for events at and live broadcast from the NMS.
Singapore Civil Defence Force (SCDF) The SCDF is showcasing the SCDF's various capabilities and emergency preparedness skills through interactive displays at the interactive exhibition. It also provided a story which will be featured at the 30 stories exhibit of the interactive exhibition.
Singapore Discovery Centre (SDC) The SDC is organising and hosting an interactive exhibition on TD, titled "On Guard", from 28 Jan to 14 Mar 2014 to help raise awareness of TD messages. In addition, SDC will be organising an experiential learning programme titled "We are TD Defenders!!" for primary and secondary school students.
Singapore Police Force (SPF) The SPF is showcasing their crime prevention efforts and the latest SPF vehicles and equipment at the interactive exhibition to raise Singaporeans’ awareness of their role in Civil Defence. SPF also provided a story on a Delta League member, which will be featured at the 30 stories exhibit of the interactive exhibition as well as the TD2014 commissioned short film. Delta League went on to support the making of the short film, in which a group of Delta League football players acted in a segment of it.
SMRT SMRT provided a story which will be featured at the 30 stories exhibit of the interactive exhibition.
Tan Tock Seng Hospital (TTSH) TTSH provided a story which will be featured at the 30 stories exhibit of the interactive exhibition.
Yellow Ribbon Project (YRP) (Singapore Prisons Service) The YRP is showcasing stories of how ex-offenders are playing their part and contributing to society at the interactive exhibition.

[1]  In 2011, POSB organised a "POSB Build & Protect our Home" competition that was held from 1 Feb 12 to 31 Mar 12. Primary school students were encouraged to think about how they could contribute to Economic Defence by saving up to make Singapore a better home. The bank also sponsored $300,000 for the purchase of airtime on free-to-air television and radio channels for airing of the Home Music Video. In 2012, POSB organised an inter-school (primary and secondary schools only) contest titled "My Turn to Save" which seeks to encourage students to use their creativity to identify an iconic Singapore symbol they would want to protect and build the symbol using recycled materials (plastics bottles, old boxes, drink cans, etc). POSB has contributed to TD 2013 by sponsoring the Woodlands Branch POSB as a checkpoint for The TD Challenge and five 40-seater buses to transport the Challenge participants from Woodlands Branch POSB to the next checkpoint.
