Commander of Royal Brunei Armed Forces Makes Farewell Call

The Commander of the Royal Brunei Armed Forces (RBAF), Major-General (MG) Dato Paduka Seri Haji Aminuddin Ihsan bin Pehin Orang Kaya Saiful Mulok Dato Seri Paduka Haji Abidin, called on Minister for Defence Dr Ng Eng Hen at the Ministry of Defence this afternoon. MG Aminuddin, who is on his farewell visit to Singapore from 29 to 31 December 2013, had earlier called on Chief of Defence Force Lieutenant-General Ng Chee Meng and inspected a Guard of Honour.

The visit by MG Aminuddin underscores the strong and long-standing bilateral defence ties between Singapore and Brunei. Under MG Aminuddin's leadership, interactions between the Singapore Armed Forces (SAF) and RBAF have grown in scope with a wide range of activities, such as bilateral exercises, regular visits and professional exchanges. These interactions have also enhanced the professionalism of the two armed forces. In recognition of his significant contributions towards strengthening ties between the SAF and RBAF, MG Aminuddin was conferred Singapore's highest military award, the Darjah Utama Bakti Cemerlang (Tentera) [Distinguished Service Order (Military)], in April 2012.
