Major-General Goh Si Hou


MG Goh Si Hou enlisted into the Singapore Army in January 1997 and commissioned as an Officer in the SAF Officer Cadet School in October 1997.

An Artillery officer by vocation, MG Goh served his junior command tours in the Artillery formation. MG Goh was the Commanding Officer, 20th Battalion Singapore Artillery, and also Commander 3rd Division Artillery. In these appointments, he was part of the Executive Committee for Singapore’s National Day Parade in 2009 and 2013. As Commander 6th Singapore Division, he oversaw the Combined Arms Training Centre (CATC), which is the Army’s centre of excellence for Brigade training.

MG Goh held various key staff appointments in the SAF and Ministry of Defence. He served as the Assistant Chief of the General Staff (Plans), where he was responsible for the long term plans, capability development and resource management for the Army. In his previous staff appointments, MG Goh served as Deputy Director (Personnel Policy), where he was responsible for HR policies and the implementation of new career schemes in the SAF. He also headed a project office supporting the Committee to Strengthen National Service (CSNS).

MG Goh received a Bachelor of Arts (First Class) in Economics from the University of Cambridge, Master of Arts in International Policy Studies from Stanford University, and a Master of Science in Management from Stanford Graduate School of Business. Among his military accolades, he was awarded Distinguished Honour Graduate in the US Field Artillery School and Distinguished Graduate of the US Marine Corps Command and Staff College.

MG Goh is married with two young children.
