Since 20 Mar, the Singapore Armed Forces has been supporting the Ministry of Health in contact tracing efforts for COVID-19 cases. Many of our RSAF airmen and women have stepped up to contribute to this cause, and have taken up various roles in the contact tracing centres to do their part for the fight against COVID-19.

It’s the 25th year of Exercise Airguard (XAG), but the friendships our airmen forged go beyond that! Since the first XAG in 1994, our airmen have worked with the Royal Brunei Air Force (RBAirF), and honed air defence proficiencies together. Through this, they also forged strong friendships!

It was in 1979 that MAJ (RET) Vasanti Ayadurai made history in the RSAF. She graduated as part of the first batch of female Air Traffic Controllers (ATC) trained locally in the then Seletar Air Base. Some 40 years later, MAJ (RET) Vasanti continues to teach and inspire our future generation of airmen and women at the Air Force Training Command (AFTC). MAJ (RET) Vasanti shares more about her lifelong career in the RSAF.

Senior Minister of State for Defence Mr Heng Chee How visited the Republic of Singapore Air Force (RSAF)'s Flying Training Institute (FTI) Detachment in Pearce, Australia, for their 25th anniversary celebrations earlier today. This morning in Perth, Mr Heng was also hosted to breakfast by Governor of Western Australia and former Minister for Defence Kim Beazley, AC. During the breakfast, Mr Heng and Mr Beazley reaffirmed the close and long-standing relationship between Singapore and Australia. Mr Heng also thanked Mr Beazley for Australia's strong support for the Singapore Armed Force's training in Western Australia.
