When Ms Loo is not tinkering with spreadsheets and going over personnel records as an admin head in the Air Force, she is likely to be found on horseback at the Punggol Gallop Stables.

The 24-year-old developed an affection for horses when she was seven, and started learning to ride two years later. After taking a break from the sport, she picked it up again last year. Her dream is to own a horse some day.

"I enjoy horse riding because it's fun and different. It's not a common sport that most people will take up. You need to be in full control of the horse so as not to fall," said Ms Loo. "Also, different horses have different personalities. The challenge is to understand and make friends with them."

At work, she is responsible for administrative matters at the Human Resource Management Centre, Air Combat Command.

Despite her title, her job is not desk-bound. She went for an overseas assignment in July as the admin officer for an air combat exercise.

She said: "I like my job because I get to meet and interact with a lot of people on a daily basis. It can be challenging but it's a lot of fun!"
