As the lead project officer for this year's N.E.mation!, Ms Toh has seen the creative potential of Singapore's youth up close.
This annual competition encourages students to express their thoughts on Total Defence (TD) through digital animation. The public will get to vote for their three favourite clips in January, with the winners announced in February.
Ms Toh was impressed by the passion that the students exhibited, adding: "I like the immense satisfaction in seeing a project through from start to finish. I also loved working with the kids because it is gratifying to know that we can play a part in their learning journey."
The event is part of the varied work she does at Nexus, Singapore's central National Education office. She has also worked on projects such as the TD 2016 Exhibition and the SAF50 celebrations.
During the TD 2016 campaign, Ms Toh was involved in public relations and producing online content to engage people from all walks of life. This sparked an interest in public relations and mass communications, and in October 2016, the accountancy graduate completed a part-time course in this field. It was jointly held by the Institute of Public Relations of Singapore and the Ministry of Defence.
In her spare time, she likes to take long walks, sometimes up to two hours each time, near her home at Dairy Farm. She also enjoys cycling as well as playing badminton and other court games.
"I like to immerse myself in nature. My favourite place to walk is the Wallace Trail at the Dairy Farm Nature Reserve. It is largely untouched and very peaceful."
