Close Combat Training (CCT) is part of basic fighting skills that soldiers in the Singapore Armed Forces go through. The training combines various traditional martial arts to teach soldiers to defend themselves and take down an opponent while unarmed.

Trainers from CESP's Soldier Fitness Centre, Mr Lim Kiong Keng and Mr Darul Nizam demonstrate some of these skills.

Soldiers go through Basic CCT at the Basic Military Training Centre, where they learn the basics of strikes and blocks. Some formations also go through Advanced CCT where they learn takedowns & defence against armed assailants.

Here are three quick self-defence tips you should know.
