Enhancing Mutual Understanding of Thai Counterparts

10 Nov 22

On 8 Nov 2022, the Republic of Singapore Navy's (RSN) Formidable-class frigate RSS Stalwart and the Royal Thai Navy's (RTN) M58-class Patrol Ship HTMS Laemsing met in the Andamen Sea, off Phuket, for a passage exercise (PASSEX).

The exercise saw the ships conducting a series of communication and manoeuvring exercises to enhance mutual understanding between our navies.

Getting into the correct position, or as we say in the Navy - "taking up station", from HTMS Laemsing.

Exchange of messages, using naval flags, between RSS Stalwart and HTMS Laemsing during one of the communication serial.

The RSN conducts regular PASSEXes to enhance close and long-standing relationships with many regional navies like the RTN. These professional interactions at sea have enabled the RSN to keep our ties warm with our counterparts.
