"The end of today's journey marks the beginning of a new one. As the saying goes, the only easy day was yesterday. The road ahead will be tough, but it will build character and resilience. Be humble, lead with your heart, and serve with purpose." - Mr Masagos Zulkifli, Minister for the Environment and Water Resources, at the 116/19 Officer Cadet Course Commissioning Parade

Nine months of hard work and training at the Midshipman Wing finally culminated yesterday for our newly-minted Officers of the 88th Midshipman Batch! Bravo Zulu to our newest Naval Officers!

"I am proud to be able to achieve this milestone during my National Service. At the same time, I am humbled by the huge responsibility that this rank demands of me, and I'll do my best."

It has been a long journey towards officership for 2LT Marcus Tang. Even though the days were long and training was tough, 2LT Tang found strength from his parents' unwavering support.

"During the long car rides to SAFTI, my father and I had many meaningful conversations that spurred me on to do better. And I always looked forward to my mum's cooking when I went home during the weekends. These were the little things that I used to take for granted, but now I cherish them the most."
