SIMBEX marks 25th year with largest edition
At its 25th year, the Singapore-India Maritime Bilateral Exercise (SIMBEX) is the longest-running military exercise that the Singapore Armed Forces has with the Indian Armed Forces. This year’s, held from 10 to 21 Nov in the Andaman Sea and Bay of Bengal, saw the participation of about 30 assets – the largest number in its history.
On 20 Nov, Minister of Defence Dr Ng Eng Hen visited the exercise and saw the two navies conducting a combined missile firing. “This exercise has been hugely successful… The fact that our missiles have hit their targets, gives us great confidence and this interoperability, this ability to work with one another and to learn from one another, is valuable.”
