Minister for Defence Reaffirms Strong Ties with Partners at 15th Lennart Meri Conference

 

 

Minister for Defence Dr Ng Eng Hen called on Estonian Prime Minister Kaja Kallas yesterday afternoon on the sidelines of the 15th Lennart Meri Conference. During the meeting, Dr Ng and Prime Minister Kallas reaffirmed the warm and growing bilateral relations between Singapore and Estonia. They highlighted the importance of upholding the international rule of law and the inviolable sanctity of individual nation's sovereignty and territorial integrity. They exchanged views on the regional security architecture and reaffirmed the importance of multilateralism, particularly for small states, in addressing common security issues such as hybrid threats and cyber norms.


Dr Ng also met European Council on Foreign Relations Co-Chair and Former Prime Minister of Sweden Mr Carl Bildt. They exchanged views on the political and security developments in Europe and the Asia-Pacific, as well as discussed ways in which Singapore and the European Union can further cooperation in the development and promotion of norms in support of the rules-based international order and in emerging domain areas.


Dr Ng is in Tallinn, Estonia to attend and speak at the 15th Lennart Meri Conference.
