Indonesian Air Force Chief of Staff Makes Introductory Visit to Singapore

The Chief of Staff of the Indonesian Air Force (TNI AU), Air Chief Marshal (ACM) Fadjar Prasetyo, called on Minister for Defence Dr Ng Eng Hen at the Ministry of Defence (MINDEF) this morning. During their meeting, Dr Ng and ACM Fadjar reaffirmed defence ties and discussed efforts to enhance cooperation in areas of mutual interest.

ACM Fadjar, who is in Singapore from 2 to 4 January 2022 for his introductory visit, also called on Chief of Defence Force Lieutenant-General Melvyn Ong and Chief of Air Force Major-General Kelvin Khong after inspecting the Guard of Honour at MINDEF. As part of his visit, ACM Fadjar visited Sembawang Air Base and Changi Air Base (East) yesterday, where he took a familiarisation flight on board a Republic of Singapore Air Force (RSAF) H225M Medium Lift Helicopter and viewed a static display of the A330 Multi-Role Tanker Transport respectively.

ACM Fadjar's visit underscores the close and long-standing defence relations between Singapore and Indonesia. The RSAF and the TNI AU commemorated 40 years of defence relations in 2021. Both air forces cooperate and interact regularly through the conduct of exercises such as Exercise Elang Indopura, high-level visits, professional exchanges and cross-attendance of professional courses. These regular interactions have enhanced close ties and mutual understanding between the personnel of both air forces.

Relevant health checks and safety measures were taken by the visiting delegation.
