RSAF's F-16C Fighter Aircraft and Apache AH-64D Helicopters Set to Dazzle at Singapore Airshow 2022

The Republic of Singapore Air Force (RSAF) will be participating in Singapore Airshow 2022 (SA2022), held from 15 to 18 February at the Changi Exhibition Centre. The RSAF will perform a series of aerial manoeuvres by an F-16C fighter aircraft and a pair of AH-64D Apache attack helicopters. An array of aircraft types and weapon systems employed by the RSAF for Singapore's round-the-clock air defence will also be on static display.

The RSAF's aerial display will feature nine manoeuvres by the F-16C fighter aircraft and 12 manoeuvres by the pair of AH-64D Apache attack helicopters. The 15-minute aerial display demonstrates the manoeuvrability and precision of the two different types of aircraft, and reflects the capabilities, close coordination and team excellence of the RSAF personnel involved. The RSAF will also put on display a range of assets, including the F-15SG and F-16D+ fighter aircraft, AH-64D Apache attack helicopter, A330 Multi-Role Tanker Transport, Hermes 450 Unmanned Aerial Vehicle, Aster 30 Missile System and the H225M Medium Lift helicopter. This is the first time that the newly delivered H225M helicopter is put on static display. Members of the public may view the aerial and static displays through a livestream on each day of SA2022.

Chairman of the RSAF Flying Display Committee Colonel Kevin Wee spoke to the media on the RSAF's training leading up to the aerial performance for SA2022. He said, "The RSAF team has trained intensively for the aerial display, whilst continuing to carry out their operational roles in defending Singapore's skies. It has been a challenging period for the RSAF team and we hope that this year's aerial display will not be just a showcase of the RSAF's capabilities, but also a tribute to the strength and resilience of the airmen and women of the RSAF. Training and preparations for the Airshow continue with safe management measures in place so as to keep our personnel safe amidst COVID-19. We are confident that the RSAF team can put up a good show and hope that the public can enjoy the performance through the livestream."

Commending the RSAF participants for their professionalism and dedication, Chairman of the RSAF Sub-Committee for SA2022, Lieutenant Colonel Edwin Koh said, "Being able to participate in the Airshow is an honour for the RSAF. The Airshow is an international event that brings together international defence officials, thought leaders and commercial partners in the Aerospace industry. It is an excellent platform for the RSAF to showcase our capabilities as a modern, full-spectrum and professional Air Force, operated by well-trained personnel who are committed to the defence of Singapore."

The RSAF has been participating in the biennial Singapore Airshow since its inaugural edition in 2008.
