770 MINDEF/SAF Personnel Recognised with the National Day Awards



Minister for Defence Dr Ng Eng Hen officiated at the National Day Awards Investiture held at the Ministry of Defence (MINDEF) this evening. Due to the COVID-19 situation, 33 MINDEF/SAF award recipients received their awards from Dr Ng in this small-scale investiture, with the other awards presented in a decentralised manner.

In 2020, 770 personnel from MINDEF and the Singapore Armed Forces (SAF) were recognised for their outstanding performances and dedication to duty and service. A total of 121 Commendation Medals, 152 Efficiency Medals and 518 Long Service Medals were awarded to both military and non-military personnel. 21 personnel were awarded with both the Commendation/Efficiency Medal and the Long Service Medal.

At the National Day Awards Ceremony held on 4 April 2021, Chief of Air Force Major-General Kelvin Khong, Chief of Staff - Joint Staff Brigadier-General Tan Chee Wee, and Director Military Intelligence and Chief C4I Brigadier-General Ng Chad-Son, were awarded the Public Administration Medal (Gold) (Military). In addition, 14 SAF officers and five MINDEF personnel were awarded the Public Administration Medal (Silver) (Military) and Public Administration Medal (Silver) respectively, while 21 SAF officers and 12 MINDEF personnel were awarded the Public Administration Medal (Bronze) (Military) and Public Administration Medal (Bronze) respectively.
