Royal Thai Navy Chief Makes Introductory Visit to Singapore

Commander-in-Chief of the Royal Thai Navy (RTN) Admiral (ADM) Luechai Ruddit called on Minister for Defence Dr Ng Eng Hen at the Ministry of Defence (MINDEF) this morning.

ADM Luechai, who is in Singapore for an introductory visit from 20 to 22 January 2020, also called on Chief of Defence Force Lieutenant-General Melvyn Ong and Chief of Navy Rear-Admiral Lew Chuen Hong, after reviewing a Guard of Honour at MINDEF. As part of his programme, ADM Luechai will be visiting RSS Singapura - Changi Naval Base later this afternoon.

ADM Luechai's visit underscores the close and longstanding bilateral defence relations between both countries. The Republic of Singapore Navy and the RTN interact regularly through high-level visits, professional exchanges, courses, and exercises. Such interactions have enhanced the professionalism and mutual understanding between both navies.
