Minister for Defence in Germany to Speak at the 56th Munich Security Conference

Minister for Defence Dr Ng Eng Hen will be in Germany from 14 to 17 February 2020 to attend the 56th Munich Security Conference (MSC). This will be the ninth time that Dr Ng is attending the MSC.

Dr Ng will speak at the MSC Maritime Security Roundtable on 14 February on the topic "Bridging Troubled Waters: Alleviating Conflict Potential in the South China Sea"; and at the 12th Munich Young Leaders Roundtable on 15 February on the topic "Building Consensus in a Divided World". While in Munich, he will also have bilateral meetings with his foreign counterparts.

The MSC is an annual high-level security conference that brings together key foreign affairs and defence leaders from around the world. Conducted in Germany since 1963, the conference will be attended by heads of government, defence and foreign ministers, parliamentarians, military leaders and security experts.
