Defence Minister Ng Calls on President Xi on the Sidelines of the 7th CISM Military World Games in Wuhan, China

Minister for Defence Dr Ng Eng Hen, together with over 20 other defence ministers, had a joint call on President of the People's Republic of China Xi Jinping earlier today, ahead of the opening ceremony of the 7th International Military Sports Council (CISM) Military World Games in Wuhan, China. Dr Ng also interacted with other defence ministers from ASEAN and the region on the sidelines of the opening ceremony, which showcased how militaries can enhance mutual understanding and contribute to world peace.

On 19 October 2019, Dr Ng will leave for Beijing, China. In Beijing, Dr Ng will be meeting several Chinese leaders, including Vice Chairman of the Central Military Commission, General Xu Qiliang, and State Councilor and Minister of National Defense, General Wei Fenghe. Dr Ng will also attend the 9th Beijing Xiangshan Forum and speak at the plenary session titled "Interests of Small and Medium-Sized Countries and Common Security".
