Reply to CNA's Query on Water Discolouration at Pulau Tekong

Discoloured tap water was reported in certain areas of the Basic Military Training Centre (BMTC) at Pulau Tekong yesterday morning.

Officers from Singapore's National Water Agency PUB (PUB) responded promptly to assist and flush the water network in Pulau Tekong. PUB also collected water samples for testing and is currently investigating the cause of the incident.

The safety and well-being of servicemen is of paramount importance. Essential water needs for servicemen, including drinking water and food preparation, have been met by alternative sources within BMTC and PUB-deployed water wagons. BMTC is working with PUB to restore potable water supply at the earliest opportunity.
