The Republic of Singapore Air Force (RSAF) will be conducting an aerial display at the Marina Barrage as part the RSAF50 celebrations to thank Singaporeans for their strong support through the years. Members of the public are encouraged to join in the celebrations at the RSAF@Marina Barrage dressed in blue, representing the skies that the RSAF protects.
There will be three segments to the aerial display, namely (i) the Sequential Flypast; (ii) the Helicopter Aerial Display and the Fighter Aerial Display; and (iii) the Finale Bomb Burst.
Each show will last about 30 minutes, and the aerial display will be streamed live1 on the RSAF Facebook page. The public can also tune in to Power 98 FM and 88.3 Jia FM to listen to a live commentary broadcast when watching the aerial display in the vicinity of the Marina Barrage.
As a salute to fellow Singaporeans who have given their unwavering support to the RSAF over the years, 19 RSAF combat aircraft comprising all RSAF manned combat aircraft types and four Singapore Youth Flying Club (SYFC) DA40 trainer aircraft will perform a sequential flypast over the Marina Barrage in five separate formations. The formations will fly at different altitude between 500ft and 2000ft, and are timed approximately 60 seconds apart. The public will also get to see the inaugural participation of an RSAF Heron 1 UAV in such an event, where it will be flying over the Marina Barrage area before the flypast.
¹The 10:00am show on 11 Aug and the 2:30pm show on 12 Aug are planned to be streamed live on the RSAF Facebook page.
