SAF Volunteer Corps Promotes Wider Participation in National Defence

The SAF Volunteer Corps (SAFVC) is a uniformed volunteer scheme that allows more Singaporeans and Permanent Residents to contribute to national defence, show support for National Service, and deepen their understanding and ownership of national defence.

Helmed by Colonel Mike Tan Cheow Khai, Commander of the SAFVC, the headquarters of the SAFVC will be at Maju Camp where the SAFVC Volunteers will undergo progressive training to ensure that they are adequately trained and qualified for their roles. They will serve alongside our national servicemen in roles that support the SAF's operations and training.

Application for the SAFVC will commence on 13 October 2014. Interested individuals may obtain the application form from the Army Recruitment Centre or submit the application through the SAFVC website at www.mindef.gov.sg/SAFVC. More information can also be found on the SAFVC website.
