116/19 Commissioning Parade
In the presence of Mr Masagos Zulkifli, The Minister for the Environment and Water Resources & Minister-in-Charge of Muslim Affairs, 227 Officer Cadets from the 116/19 Officer Cadet Course (OCC) were commissioned this evening as Officers of the Singapore Armed Forces (SAF). After a lengthy and arduous 38 weeks of training, they finally got to commission and don their second lieutenant (2LT) ranks on the SAFTI MI parade square. Our heartiest congratulations to all the newly minted officers, their friends and families! As cliché as it is, “With great power comes great responsibility”.
Go out there and be the best leader you can be to those under your charge!

SAF's Mask Packing
Minister for Defence Dr Ng Eng Hen and Minister for Trade and Industry Chan Chun Sing visited SAF personnel helping to pack masks for Singaporeans, at SAFTI Military Institute this afternoon.
The SAF is packing 5.2 million surgical masks into packets of four, to be sent to 89 The People's Association community centres and clubs around the island.
“The SAF is very aware that all agencies within the Government must lean forward and do our part against the Wuhan virus. I think we learnt a lot during SARS; it made us more prepared (to deal) with every new biological outbreak. It can be very serious if we are not quick enough to pick up the right measures,” said Dr Ng. #staysafe #keepcalm #carryon

OCS New Year PT 2020
Officer Cadet School (OCS) conducted a new year physical training during the 3rd day of the new year. It comprises a 3km run followed by a mass Tabata workout. In addition to striving for physical training excellence, the event also serves to enhance cohesion and foster Esprit de Corps within the school.

SAFTI International Cadets' Conference 2019 Opening Address
On 12th December 2019, Chief of Army, MG Goh Si Hou graced the official opening of the SAFTI International Cadets’ Conference (SICC)
2019.
60 officer cadets and 15 instructors from 18 countries arrived in Singapore for the SICC. The Conference was themed "Millennial Leaders
- Challenges and Opportunities for the Future". Aside from experiencing life as a cadet in Officer Cadet School (OCS) Singapore, they will also engage with global military issues of the twenty-first century such
as cyber-security, counter-terrorism and gender roles in the military, and consider how best to respond as millennial military leaders of tomorrow. As part of the Conference, they will also witness the 115/19
Officer Cadet Course (OCC) commissioning parade come Sunday, 15th December 2019.

Caring Hearts - MINDS at SAFTI MI
Despite the sudden downpour over SAFTI Military Institute (MI), our friends' spirits could not be dampened. Working with the Movement
for the Intellectually Disabled of Singapore (MINDS), SAF Advanced Schools (SAS) hosted a group of intellectually disabled people at SAFTI MI.
Organised by our Full-time National Servicemen, the visitors were treated to a tour of SAFTI MI and enjoyed a series of activities
that were planned. While the visitors had an informative and enjoyable session, it was not entirely a one-sided learning experience as our soldiers learnt just as much from them through the interaction!

On the morning of 14th July, the Junior Officer Cadets of the 112/18 Officer Cadet Course introduced their families and friends to
SAFTI MI's grounds. Guests were given a tour, by the Cadets themselves, where they will spend the next 9 months at.
Guests were also given an opportunity to interact with the Commanders and Instructors of the School,to know more about the Cadets'
training, conducts and what they could expect their sons and daughters to go through in the upcoming months.
