Flexible work hours and arrangements are available for DXOs to better harmonise work and life. Various leave schemes are also in place to provide for a family-friendly work environment. Such schemes include maternity leave, paternity leave, childcare leave, parent-care leave and compassionate leave.

MINDEF provides all DXOs with S$150,000 Group Term Life and S$150,000 Group Personal Accident insurance coverage during the tenure of their service. The premiums are paid for by MINDEF. DXOs also have the option to purchase additional coverage at competitive premiums. They will also receive subsidised outpatient treatment (up to a capped amount), and dental benefits.
