Singapore recognises the important role that the UN plays in the global peace process. No one can take peace for granted. As a responsible member of the world community, Singapore shows its commitment to the principles enshrined in the UN Charter through its participation in UN peacekeeping and peacemaking operations. Despite our manpower constraints, Singapore contributes to UN peacekeeping operations to the best of our ability and where our contributions would be effective.
