Manager/Executive (NE Research and Current Issues)*

You support the organisation's efforts to strengthen public commitment to the defence of Singapore by overseeing the conceptualisation, development and updating of content for various National Education (NE) training modules, programmes and activities. To this end, you design creative and engaging means of communication to raise awareness and generate understanding of Singapore's history, defence and geo-political landscape as well as the challenges facing Singapore to a wide range of audience. Your challenge is to see opportunities to draw out relevant lessons from current affairs and developments, nuance the learning points correctly and subtly, constantly review NE programmes to keep them updated and useful, as well as leverage on non-traditional media and the NE resource hub to drive NE efforts.

You must have a good Honours Degree in Political Science, International Relations, History or Asian Studies, preferably with interest and about 2-5 years' relevant experience in research and political/current affairs analysis. Appointment will commensurate with your working experience.

Head (Leadership Methodology and Technology)

You lead project teams in the research, conceptualisation, development and implementation of cutting-edge learning methodologies and technologies to advance leadership development in the SAF. On this, you work closely with various SAF training institutes and operational units to actively encourage the adoption of new learning initiatives and methods of instruction. Your challenge is to have a good appreciation of the wide-ranging training requirements while keeping abreast of latest learning trends and other pedagogies that contribute to the maintenance of SAF's leadership edge.

You must have a Degree with knowledge/experience in instructional design or training development. Good communication and project management skills are critical.

Manager/Executive (NE Research and Analysis)

You oversee the planning, development and conduct of qualitative and quantitative National Education (NE)-related research studies. On this, you gather and analyse research data, feedback and trends that will guide MINDEF in its strategic planning efforts and provide a basis for the content development, packaging, delivery and review of NE programmes for Singaporeans. Your challenge is to accurately and systematically measure and track the effectiveness of NE efforts and to recommend appropriate actions to address key concerns as well as to develop a systematic and sustainable framework for evaluating the long-term effectiveness of NE programmes.

You must have a Degree with about 1-3 years' experience in a managerial role. Relevant experience in conducting social, psychological or marketing research is an advantage. Besides having basic knowledge of statistics, you should be skilled in written communication and ideally be familiar with current affairs and possess an understanding of NE-related issues. You drive the execution of MINDEF/SAF's personnel, administration and finance IT masterplan by gathering users' requirements, prioritising resources and continuously improving system performance and capabilities. You must have a Degree in Business or Information Technology with about 2-5 years' working experience and be conversant with the capabilities of computerised systems. Experience in planning work is preferred for the managerial position. In addition to being result- and customer-oriented, familiarity with personnel, administration and finance-related systems and business process re-engineering or other process improvement projects is advantageous.
