Apaches Participating in a Land Battle
The Apache Longbow Attack Helicopters (AH-64D) will enhance the Singapore Armed Forces’ (SAF) operational capabilities and advance its efforts to build an integrated fighting force. The attack helicopters, equipped with targeting radar and a formidable array of armaments, can be deployed as frontline tank busters and reconnaissance platforms.
Ex Forging Sabre: Integrated Strike Operation
Ex Forging Sabre is the SAF's first 3rd Generation integrated strike exercise, held in United States from 10-21 Nov 05. The exercise seeks to integrate the operations of the SAF's Apache attack and Chinook helicopters, F-16 fighter aircraft, UAVs, artillery platforms and commando ground forces. Exercises like these enable the SAF to validate slices of new operational concepts and capabilities being developed for the 3rd Generation SAF.
  Integrated Strike
The Integrated Strike video illustrates one of the key capabilities of the 3rd Generation SAF. It shows the integrated sensor-shooter network which was exercised in two major exercises the SAF conducted in November 2005 - Forging Sabre in the Mojave Desert in California, and Wallaby in Shoalwater Bay in Queensland.
