PRIDE DAY SPEECH
2006 was another busy year for MINDEF and the SAF. We continued to forge ahead with our transformation to realise the 3rd Generation SAF and we have made significant progress. Each of the Services had an eventful and successful 2006, accomplishing various milestones along the way.

New capabilities were brought into operation. Important exercises such as Exercise Wallaby 2006 saw the networking of an array of land and air platforms and sensors to fight as an integrated force. The SAF also announced significant organisational changes with the reorganisation of the HQ RSAF and its functional Commands, as well as the restructuring of the Army General Staff into various hubs.
