President S R Nathan will be hosting a garden reception at the Istana for personnel from the Ministry of Defence (MINDEF) and the Singapore Armed Forces (SAF) on 13 July 2008. This annual reception is to be held in recognition of the contributions and dedication made by MINDEF/SAF personnel to the defence of Singapore.
Among those that will be invited to the reception are top MINDEF/SAF officials, DSTA personnel, active servicemen who have performed well in their training or made significant contributions, and NSmen with outstanding performance during their in-camp training.
The reception also enables the President to meet and mingle with the servicemen and talk to them about their SAF experience and contributions to the nation's peace and security.
