The Bali attacks have brought into stark relief the issue of terrorist threats in the immediate region. We take the threat seriously and are doing everything possible to ensure that Singapore remains safe and secure. The travel advisories issued by some foreign governments following the attacks have painted the entire region as unsafe. But countries like Singapore have implemented and, where necessary, enhanced security measures to ensure the safety of Singaporeans and foreigners alike. While it is important to be concerned about the threats and be vigilant, we should not over-react. We should rest assured that our intelligence and security agencies will continue with their efforts to keep Singapore safe and secure.
