The Common Leadership Module is a fortnight programme serving to develop in freshmen the strength of character and military discipline expected of a good leader, through immersion and practice in specifically selected situations. For the first two weeks, the cadets are subjected to rigours not only to test their strength and character but also to demonstrate the need for stamina, perseverance and discipline as officers-to-be.
Some of the activities include an orientation run to familiarise cadets with the SAFTI MI grounds, "turn-outs" and the confidence jump at the SAFTI MI swimming pool. The instructors, as role models, will train and help the cadets adapt into life in OCS whilst the senior cadets act as mentors to share their experiences with them.
