A “ World Class College” would be one that excels at being relevant in serving the training and education needs of middle echelon SAF leaders. It would have the capacity to sense and understand what these needs would be, and to frame these within a coherent, efficient and effective curriculum structure that also strives to provide a “First Class Experience” for all involved. The latter derives from the realization that the performance potential of people in the College can only be tapped if attention is paid to shaping a positive environment that is internally driven to be both challenging and empathetic. The value of the College to the SAF would steadily grow beyond the conduct of its courses to becoming a centre of military studies that would actively participate in the discourse on the transformation of the SAF.
Roles and Mission
The mission of the Singapore Command and Staff College (SCSC) is to train Army, Navy and Air Force Officers to assume mid level command and staff appointments in the SAF.
The roles and functions of SCSC are to :
- Train SAF officers to hold mid-level appointment in line with the requirements of the Services and Joint Staff.
- Develop in the officers high standard of professionalism and leadership required of them at the middle level.
- Promote the integration and interaction of officers from the three Services.
