Changi Naval Base was officially opened by Prime Minister Goh Chok Tong on 21 May 2004. The base was constructed in view of the RSN's expanding operational requirements. Its is located at the eastern part of Singapore and is built on reclaimed land. It encompasses an area of 86 hectares, a sizable basin and 6.2 km of berthing space and houses serveral operational and support units. The base incorporates information technology and automation to optimise its daily operations as well as innovative solutions to minimise operating costs.
Tuas Naval Base was officially opened by Prime Minister Goh Chok Tong on 2 Sep 1994. It is situated at the western part of Singapore and covers about 28 hectares of land with more than 2 km of berthing space. Its facilities include a floating dock with a lifting capacity of 600 tons and an Automated Storage and Retrieval Warehouse. It is home to several operational and support units.
