The Sjoormen class submarines were originally purchased from Sweden for the RSN. Its excellent hydrodynamic properties is achieved by its tear drop shape. This minimises hull resistance when the submarine is submerged. These submarines now form the Challenger-class submarine squadron of the RSN.

The Navy has numerous bases and offices located throughout Singapore. This enables the Navy to provide suitable work-places and modern bases which allows us to work as a highly effective and efficient organisation.

The Barak Weapon System is a point defence missile with Command Line of Sight guidance. It is used to defend against aircraft and missile threats and provides all-round coverage and has a quick reaction time.

The F50 maritime patrol aircraft is joint operated by the RSAF and RSN. It mission is to provide maritime air surveillance and to protect the seaward defence and sea lines of communications of Singapore.

The Protector is an unmanned integrated naval combat system based on a rigid hull inflatable boat. It has a complete sensor, navigation and weapon suite and can be remotely controlled from shore or from ships at sea. It proved to be highly effective in its deployments in the Northern Arabian Gulf where it was used to conduct maritime security and interdiction operations and was operated from the LST.
