1988
When our units was formed in 1988, it was no coincidences that our office, located in the historical Tanglin Camp, was once a Royal Army hospital. Due to space constraints, our Logisitics Branch was located at ALTC, Changi Camp, in equally venerable surroundings.
Despite our "inaccessbilities", and the austere and rustic working environment, our responsibilities grew in importance and we gained official recognition as an SSSO HQ. And as HQ Army Medical Services, we soldiered on, continuing to care for our soldiers from this humble abode of ours.

By that time, however, the need for the SAF Medical Corps to keep up with the times became evident. Not only did we require new hardware, we needed a new home where all our heartware would work together happily. The necessary, but heart-rendering decision was made for the Medical Corps to shift to Nee Soon Camp.

2002
After a patient but fruitful wait, in July 2002, we were viewing the sunrise in the new Medical Corps Complex at Nee Soon Camp. No longer do we work in a "longhouse", but we have an entire floor to ourselves, sharing the new six - storey Block 701 with HQMC and SMM.
We now have better facilities, from the modernised conference room, to the new cookhouse with molded chairs and piped music. It is a new office, replete with a new working environment. But there are new challenges now. We must adjust to this new lifestyle entrusted to us. However, we are confident of our future, and we must go forth together and make our stand here, in Nee Soon Camp.
