The 3 Division motto, 'Foremost and Utmost', is a commitment from the members of the Division, to be the foremost and to do their utmost in any situation.

1. Maroon Colour
It symbolises valour, courage, confidence and aggressiveness, all of which are found in members of 3 Div.
|
2. The Tiger
A symbol that embodies aggressiveness and ferocity, personifies the spirit of Singapore's oldest Division. The tiger brings to mind an image of a fast, reliable and regal creature, one that will fight to the end for the noblest of causes while holding itself with a pride born of indomitable courage. These qualities are found in the hearts and spirit of the most admirable soldiers.

3. Yellow Border
It emphasises the unity of the diverse vocations within 3 Div. Within the 'arms' of the tiger, Infantry will fight beside Armour and Artillery, Signals and Engineer units augment and support, active personnel fighting alongside NSmen, and together they will overcome.
