GEN George Toisutta calls on Chief of Army BG Ravinder Singh, who presented a plaque to the Indonesian Army Chief of Staff in appreciation of his contributions in strengthening the defence ties between the two countries.

General (GEN) George Toisutta, Chief of Staff of the Indonesian Army (TNI-AD), was conferred Singapore's prestigious military award, the Pingat Jasa Gemilang (Tentera) by Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Defence Teo Chee Hean at an investiture on 6 May morning.
Also known as the Meritorious Service Medal (MSM)(Military), the medal was awarded to GEN Toisutta for his efforts in fostering stronger ties between the Indonesian Army and the Singapore Army.
GEN Toisutta is instrumental to the development of the well-established defence ties that both countries enjoy. Under his helm, GEN Toisutta forged closer bilateral ties between the two Armies and both have since developed in breadth and depth. These include Ex SAFKAR INDOPURA, Ex CHANDRAPURA, as well as 3rd Singapore Division (3 Div) - Army Strategic Reserves Command (KOSTRAD) Professional Interaction Programme.
Such exercises and interactions have enhanced mutual understanding between both armies. These have further strengthened the rapport and camaraderie among our officers and men.
In recognition of his outstanding efforts in developing excellent ties and friendship between the Indonesian Army and the Singapore Army, GEN Toisutta is awarded the Pingat Jasa Gemilang (Tentera).
