Aircraft Combat Manoeuvering Instrumentation

Only the second such system worldwide, the RSAF Aircraft Manoeuvering Instrumentation (ACMI) is based on the Global Positioning System (GPS) and is not restricted to a fixed location.

Three major components make up the ACMI System - the airborne pad, the Real-Time Tracking and Positioning System (RTTP) and the Base Central Debriefing Station (BCDS).The ACMI also highlights certain features unavailable on conventional Air Combat Instrumentation. Features like preset safety limits and air-to-air missile delivery simulation.

The ACMI System enhances the cost-effectiveness of training, as pilots can hone their skills through instant and accurate feedback of their air combat manoeuvres. They no longer have to rely on their memories or relive manoeuvres during debriefing- an act that could be incomplete or innacurate.
