Two Air Combat Simulators (ACS) let RSAF fighter pilots perform tactical and combat manoeuvres, do gun tracking exercises and introduce weapons employment.
Based in the Flight Simulator Centre at Paya Lebar Air Base, the dome-shaped simulators use projectors to throw realistic images of the skyline that match the pilots' manoeuvres as well as project images of target aircraft. A seat shaker also imitates the buffet and gunfire during flight.
The simulator allows pilots the option of of battling with computer-controlled target aircraft or engage in dogfights with instructors who fly from the instructor station or pilots in the next dome.
