The RSAF Headquarters is the "Think Hub" of the Air Force, constantly analysing the military climate keeping Singapore's technological, national and international goals in mind.
The RSAF headquarters comprises six departments. The smooth command flow ensures that there are no planning discrepancies, that resources are utilised where they are most needed and that there is proper coordination of all missions, including those with the Army and Navy.

Chief of Air Force (CAF) The supreme command of the RSAF lies in the hands of the Chief of Air Force (CAF). The CAF is assisted by the Chief of Staff and his key department personnel.
Chief of Staff (Air Staff) Assisting the Chief of Air Force, the Chief of Staff oversees the efficient running of the Air Force's HQ staff departments, ensuring that the RSAF is operationally-ready, always. Based in the RSAF HQ, the Chief of Staff and his team formulate the Air Force's future, amid constant political and strategic changes, in light of the country's local and global interests.
The Aeromedical Centre Otherwise known as the ARMC, the Aeromedical Centre is a specialist medical centre in the CAMO's office, providing aviation medicine expertise, which begins at the pilot and aircrew selection stage.
Testing comprises both medical and psychological examinations, and includes tests for psychomotor skills and hand-eye coordination. The ARMC also provides aviation physiology training for RSAF pilots to avoid or overcome human limitations within a flying environment.
The Air Force Inspectorate RSAF safety is the responsibility of the Air Force Inspectorate (AFI). In charge of promoting safe air and ground operations in the RSAF, the AFI's initial focus was accident prevention through education.
Currently, it conducts safety data analysis and accident investigation, manages flight and ground safety matters, promotes a safety-oriented mindset and culture and implements corrective measures.
Air Manpower The Air Manpower Department is responsible for personnel management - strategic manpower planning, recruitment, development and upgrading of RSAF staff, effective human resource management and delivery of quality manpower services to support the RSAF mission.
Air Operations In charge of the control of all air operations, tactical doctrines and warfare strategies. The Air Operations Department cooperates with the land and sea forces. It also works with the civil authorities in search and rescue missions.
Air Plans Formulating the functions and missions of the RSAF, the Air Plans Department explores the organisation and establishment of Air Force Units.
The department continually reviews orbat (order of battle) to maintain an effective edge, evaluating alternative aircraft and Air Force related weapon systems. It also reviews and controls the RSAF's operational and capital expenditure, advising respective departments of the need to operationally economise, if necessary.
Air Intelligence A department of the RSAF that deals primarily with the intelligence requirements of the country's air defence.
Air Logistics The Air Logistics Department provides engineering support as well as formulates doctrines, policies and plans for the maintenance and material support of RSAF assets.
It identifies, acquires and integrates new systems and platforms, draws up logistics plans, service instructions and policies, as well as performs quality assurance services.
Air Training Coordinating and supervising all RSAF training policies, the Air Training Department develops training doctrines to enforce realistic, vigorous and quality training. Training standards are monitored and training resources properly allocated to maximise returns.
