The Defence Merit Scholarship (DMS) Tea Session was conducted on 6 January 2008 at the Raffles City Convention Centre.
The invited guests were provided with the opportunity to find out more about this civilian scholarship and the career path open to Defence Merit Scholars through interactions with MINDEF personnel.
At the same time, the guests had the opportunity to have their queries addressed during the question-and-answer session chaired by Mr. Willie Tan, Deputy Secretary (Administration).
Application will open in January 2009.
SAF Merit Scholarship (Women) Tea Session
The SAF Merit Scholarship (Women) tea session was held at Raffles City Convention Centre on 14 October 2007.
Through sharing by in-service scholars, a question-and-answer session and interaction with in-service personnel, students found out more about the scholarship and gained a better understanding of what it means to be a female officer in the SAF.
The participants were also informed that eligible candidates will undergo Basic Military Training (BMT) at the Officer Cadet School (OCS) in early January upon provisional award of the scholarship.
Application will open in October 2008.
SAF Overseas Scholarship (SAFOS) Tea Session
The SAF Overseas Scholarship (SAFOS) Tea Session for cadets was conducted on 25 March 2007 at Raffles City Convention Centre. Cadets, who had excelled in their Basic Military Training, were invited to find out more about the opportunities available to SAF Overseas Scholars.
The cadets were presented with information about the scholarship and a military career in the SAF through sharing by SAF Overseas Scholars, video presentation and foyer exhibition. The cadets were also provided with the opportunity to further clarify any questions through direct interaction with MINDEF/SAF officers, amongst them SAF Overseas Scholars.
