Air Force
Pilot

As a Pilot, you are the nation's elite and are our first line of defence. You'll be trained to fly some of the world's most advanced aircraft and handle their powerful weapon systems. The life of a Pilot is never dull, with opportunities for overseas detachments and real-time missions such as disaster relief and search-and-rescue. Whether you're trained in fighter jets, transport planes or helicopters, ultimately it's the unparalleled exhilaration of earning your own set of professional 'wings'.

Weapon Systems Officer (WSO)

Weapon Systems Officers (WSOs) are the critical elements in the RSAF. They lead teams of men in their own field and collectively make up the multi-layered air defence umbrella. As a WSO, you'll be trained to specialise in one of the five areas:

I. Fighter (Ftr)
The mission commander of the F-16D+ strike aircraft, the WSO (Ftr) teams up with the Pilot. While the Pilot concentrates on flying the aircraft, the WSO (Ftr) will operate the aircraft's powerful sensors and precision air-to-ground weaponry and be responsible for mission planning, flight navigation, and monitoring surface and air threats.

II. Command, Control and Communications (C3)
You’ll execute real-time control over RSAF flying operations. You'll find yourself in the thick of critical strike missions, time-sensitive search and rescue missions, and precision-demanding air traffic operations. As the 'eyes and ears' of both the pilot and the ground forces, you'll also be heavily relied on to counter hostile incursions.

III. Air Defence Artillery (ADA)
A WSO (ADA) is responsible for operating our technologically advanced air defence systems. In the event that any intruder should sneak past our state-of-the-art long-range air defence interceptors, your key task is to engage and stop the intruder with our short and medium range anti-aircraft guns and surface-to-air missiles.

IV. Navigator (NAV)
A WSO (NAV) is responsible for planning and plotting all navigational procedures and flight paths onboard the C-130 Hercules transport and KC-135 air-refueller aircraft. You'll be involved in operational missions which include humanitarian relief efforts, the delivery of vital supplies to the front line troops, tactical air drops of men/weapons/machines, as well as the precision process of mid-air refuelling support to our jet fighters.

Unmanned Aerial Vehicle (UAV) Pilot

A UAV Pilot specialises in the reconnaissance arena. Being in command of a team of highly trained UAV Specialists operating the UAV, you will obtain tactical advantages over the enemy by means of intelligence operations, and be entrusted to gather accurate and highly classified information that is vital to the defence of Singapore.

Air Engineering Officer - For SMS (Engineering) Only

As an Air Engineering Officer, you'll at the helm of highly sophisticated and classified technological equipment. Besides engineering training, you'll also be groomed to take on a leadership role and head a team of dedicated professionals. Your crew and you will be heavily involved in rectifying, maintaining and servicing aircraft and weapon systems, as well as upgrading and modifying current systems capabilities.
