Training and Development

With an emphasis on training and development, MINDEF offers an environment for DXOs to grow and develop at both professional and personal levels. As a DXO, you can expect the following training opportunities:

Executive Foundation Programme: The Executive Foundation Programme is an induction course to help you assimilate into the organisation quickly when you come on board.

Milestone Courses: At different points in your career, you will attend milestone courses to strengthen your leadership skills and organisation awareness. As you advance professionally, the different training programmes tailored for your level of seniority will prepare you to take on bigger roles and responsibilities.

Other Training and Courses: As a DXO, you can attend other courses to enhance your skills and competencies. These may be in the form of organisational training, functional and job-specific training, or for general development. Besides department-sponsored courses, you are also provided with individual funds to attend training courses or to purchase learning materials. You could also be given time off work to attend these courses.

Training Awards and Sponsorships: If you perform well, training awards and sponsorships are available for you to pursue further studies.

Talent Management Programme: With proven performance and ability to take on bigger responsibilities, there are opportunities for you to be placed in our talent management programme, where you are given further opportunities for exposure and development in MINDEF.
