Fitness Testing: What’s in a Fitness Test?
Like it or not, fitness testing forms an integral part of army life. In fact, it is not just other armies that rely on periodic fitness testing but a host of agencies such as the police, fire fighters and emergency and rescue crews. Fitness testing has several main objectives. It may be a tool to ensure that individuals meet a pre-determined set of criteria as a prerequisite. Secondly, fitness testing may be used as a monitoring tool to ensure that individuals are continuously maintaining their fitness. Thirdly, a mandatory fitness test sends a clear message on how the organisation views the importance of fitness.

LTC Lum - Another weight loss success.
|
Appointment: HD NSPDB, NSAD Age: 38 Height: 179 cm Weight: 72 kg Secret of my weight loss – 20 kg in 10 months! Exercise Regime: I had the privilege to be sent for a 10-month overseas course in late 2006. Amongst other objectives that I intended to meet, I have set myself a target to make exercise part of my daily routine. While weight reduction was not my primary intent at first, stepping on the weighing scale (located conveniently at the dormitory lobby) became a daily ritual. Eventually, I have became fitter and cut my weight from 88 kg to 68 kg.
